Virginia Sanchez Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship is geared for heads of households to assist them in achieving and living their dreams through education. Applicants must meet the following qualifications and answer the following question:
1. Cumulative GPA must be greater than or equal to 2.0.
2. In 300 words or less, please describe the challenges faced by single heads of household in pursuing their dreams through higher education while financially supporting themselves and another person(s).

This scholarship is awarded in memory of Virginia Sanchez and is geared for heads of households to assist them in achieving and living their dreams through education. Virginia Sanchez was a one-time single mother and subsequently along with her loving husband raised 9 children in Barrio Logan. She always stressed the importance of education being the key to succeed and therefore, the road out of poverty.
