Norma A. Cazares & Family Scholarship
The purpose of this fund is to annually award scholarships to students who are transferring to a four‐year university and demonstrate a minimum 2.8 GPA along with evidence of a minimum of one year of college or community service, have 60 transferable units and proof of registration/enrollment in a 4‐year college (to be submitted prior to award distribution). Student must also demonstrate financial need, which is determined by data on the student’s current FAFSA or Dream Act Application.
Norma Cazares retired after serving over 25 years as a Counselor at Southwestern College, primarily working with students desiring to transfer to four‐year College and universities. She is well aware that financial challenges have kept many deserving students from realizing their educational dreams. Her desire is that recipients of the scholarship will someday pay it forward by donating to scholarships and/or through sustained community service. DACA or other undocumented students are encouraged to apply.
