Angelina J. Barrera and Family ESL Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to motivate the ESL community of students at Southwestern College and encourage them to further their career and educational path.

Qualified students must be enrolled in English as a Second Language (ESL) classes during the current semester, have a minimum of 2.5 GPA, and demonstrate financial need, which is determined by data on the student’s current FAFSA or Dream Act Application. Essay required describing challenges and barriers ESL students face daily, and issues involved with learning English. Students must submit an unofficial transcript. Former winners may not apply.
