CHAI Cathy Dimapilis Memorial Scholarship
CHAI is the Asian & Pasifika Employee Employee Resource Group at Southwestern College. Its pillars of action include community building, student support, and advocacy and awareness of the API community.
They created this scholarship in honor of Cathy Dimapilis, who was a long time employee of Southwestern College. She is remembered as a “bright light” with a positive spirit who was always willing to help others.
This scholarship was created to provide financial assistance and promotion of future leaders who aspire to serve the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Communities. Qualified students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA, and demonstrate financial need, which is determined by data on the student’s current FAFSA or Dream Act Application.
